Apstrakt

Nigerija se suočava sa izazovima u upravljanju državom, ekonomskom razvoju i društvenom napretku, što otežava život mnogim građanima. Mnogi političari koriste ovu situaciju tokom izbornih kampanja. Ovaj rad istražuje predizborne tvitove Bole Ahmeda Tinubua, Atikua Abubakara i Pitera Obija, tri vodeća predsednička kandidata na predsedničkim izborima u Nigeriji 2023. godine, kako bi se otkrile diskurzivne strategije u predstavljanju društ- venih problema koji opterećuju nigerijsku državu. Prethodna istraživanja političkog diskursa tokom izbora u Nigeriji 2023. godine uglavnom su bila usmerena na strategije mobilizacije, širenje ideologija i ubeđivanje, bez direktnog ispitivanja stavova političkih aktera o društvenim pitanjima. Primenom korpusno potpomognutog pristupa kritičkoj analizi diskursa i van Dajkove ideološke kvadratne sheme, ovaj rad fokusira se na liste učestalosti reči i konkordancijsku analizu kako bi otkrio leksičke obrasce u tvitovima. Diskurzivna pitanja oblikovana oko razvoja, liderstva i ekonomije identifikovana su putem proučavanja leksičkih jedinica. Predsednički kandidati strateški ističu ova pitanja kako bi se predstavili kao sposobni lideri putem polarizacije, naglašavajući svoje prednosti u rešavanju tih problema, ali i nesposobnost svojih protivnika da poboljšaju situaciju. Nalazi pokazuju da su Atiku i Obi imali više negativnih tvitova kojima su kritikovali neefikasnost vlasti u poboljšanju životnog standarda Nigerijaca, dok se Tinubu više fokusirao na predstavljanje sebe kao pouzdanog lidera. Studija zaključuje da su predsednički kandidati koristili pristup „mi” nasuprot „njima” kako bi ispunili očekivanja javnosti i predstavili se kao zabrinuti i odgovorni lideri.
